Ykesha
by EQ-Raiders
--- Part One ---

Ykesha can only be reached after defeating a ring event much like Anashti's. Only with this ring event you will fight 3 waves of named mobs. The first mobs is a simple tank and spank.

The second mob comes with two adds. Burn the adds and be ready to constantly be curing AOE Noxious. Three come in a row about 5-7 seconds apart.

The Third mob comes with two adds that again must be killed ASAP. There is a curse constantly in this fight. Ignore it, it doesnt do much.

The second named in this ring event is the hardest to deal with.

If you completed this ring event, grab your plats in the chest and get ready because Ykesha is now coming after you.

--- Part Two - The Fight ---

Start by stacking up almost on top of the archmagi. Have an AE tank grab everything, have the MT drag the assassin away to eliminate one of the melee AE’s and have an OT tank pick up generic adds (spawn 30 sec into the fight) and the mem wiping adds (cavalier and the two body guards).
Make sure you burn down the archmagi as fast as you can (hopefully before the first set of generic adds pop. It helps to use a lot of single target DPS on it instead of using a lot of AE dps (don’t think about your parse the first time you do it).

Make sure everyone in the raid has the warbeads and if your screen turns purple use the warbeads RIGHT AWAY.

The archmagi ports random DPS up to another room and you will have to solo a mob up there (a ykeshan researcher) to get a shard that ports you back to the entrance which is why its most important that you make sure that you kill the archmagi fastest possible.

The room you get ported into looks alot like the first two Ring Event rooms in Guk: Outer Stronghold. The room with the large gate (first event) and the rooms that contain the Chef and the Mender mobs. There will be a Epic x 4 mob that also roams between the 4 rooms. The Epic x 4 mob will NOT enter the rooms the researchers are in so sprint your way to safety if you aggro him. Kill the researcher, loot the porting shard and run back to the raid.

When you have burned the archmagi down, you continue to burn the healer down, cavalier, two body guards ect...you might wanna adjust who you kill second and third if you have a problem tanking the body guards (the mem wipe) as it will ease some of the deaths. It will require more firepower since the healer will constantly be healing them.

Generally, kill the assassin last as he is tanked away from the bunch.
Make sure that you kill all the generic adds as soon as possible when they pop (don’t chase them down but make them path to you and burn them down.

Warlocks and chanters can group root/group stun and just burn them down.
One thing to joust is the melee AE that Ykesha has. Also, when you are going after the assassin, joust his aswell.

Details for the Fight :
  • First melee AE and deathtouch is 35-40 seconds into the fight.
  • Bodyguards and cavalier mem wipe
  • The deathtouch is a curse like Gynok's
  • There is a no target curse which is a semi rare event
  • There is a curse that debuffs you with -crit and -base dmg ect. which is common
  • If the bodyguards and cavalier are impossible to deal with, adjust and kill them first after the archmagi
  • Optional: Archmagi -> Assassin due to low HP and the freeing of a tank that can help with the mem wiping mobs.

The entire fight is based around controlling the adds and getting the adds down. Once the initial adds are down the fight is a really simplistic tank and spank and just waiting for the spawned adds to arrive and get off tanked until you are back on the named. Ykesha himself does very little to worry your MT group as long as you have a good setup for the group. Dirge, Chanter, Shaman, Plate Healer, (..warden if you need it) ect..ect...

This is a really hard fight at 80 even with SF AA's and the new gearing. Also, there isn't much information besides here about the fight.

Also, there are two hidden trash mobs in the first room down the ramp towards Ykesha. They spawn if you start going after Ykesha and they are not dead yet. You can trigger them by going to the corners of the statues along the back wall in that room.
