SOE was honored by having a piece from Legends of Norrath selected by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences for the 2011 “Into the Pixel” exhibit (http://www.intothepixel.com/artwork/index.asp).
“The 2011 Into the Pixel exhibit features seventeen works of video game art, selected by a panel of jurors from a field of submissions gleaned from artists around the world. The exhibition offers an opportunity for published video and computer game artists to be reviewed and recognized by the public and by their peers in both the fine art and video game worlds.”
The work entitled “Amorphous Drake” is from Legends of Norrath. The artist is Lucas Graciano and Art Director is Derek Herring. This is the third year in a row works from SOE were selected for this exclusive gallery show! The show will debut at e3 next week in Los Angeles. It is also a nominee for a Chelsey award (http://www.asfa-art.org/pages/06-currentawardspage.html) for Best Gaming Illustration. * Lucas Graciano also won a Chelsey in 2010 for Silverwing (another Legends of Norrath work)
