SOE Gamer of the Month – April

It’s that time of the month again, time to meet The SOE Gamer of the Month! The SOE Gamer of the Month Challenge is changing its focus a bit. The SOE Community Team would like to introduce the April SOE Gamer for 2011, Maista Du’Muerte in EverQuest II. Get to know her better. Sometime in the near future you may hear questions answered that she submitted in an SOE Podcast.

Question: Where in the real life world do you live (city and state)?
Answer:Champlin, Minnesota
Question: What SOE game(s) do you play?
Answer:Everquest 2
Question: How long have you played the above game(s)?
Answer:6 years
Question: What other games do you play?
Answer:Anything that will help my 16 month old son learn
Question: Why would you like to be the SOE Gamer of the Month?
Answer:Because it seemed like something fun to do!
Question: What do you do for a living?
Answer:I am a 3rd key at Claire’s Boutiques (jewelry/accessory store) and I am going to school to get my Associates as a Pharmacy Technician
Question: How many hours a week do you play video games?
Answer:It varies between 20-25 hours
Question: Tell us about your character(s).
Answer:Maista is a Dirge who has an extensive wardrobe in her bank. She changes outfits at least two or three times a week. She enjoys singing songs for her comrades to help boost morale when fighting epic monsters.
Question: How did you get into gaming?
Answer:My first boyfriend showed me Everquest when I was 17, and I’ve been hooked on MMO’s ever since.
Question: What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other than playing video games?
Answer:Singing (that’s why I play a Dirge), cooking, going to the park…when weather permits, and spending time with my family.
Question: What do you like the most about your favorite SOE game?
Answer:The lore! It might not be other’s cup of tea, but I love reading the scripts and books. I applaud the developers who take the time to implement well thought out stories.
Question: What’s the first thing you do when you log into your game? Do you have a routine?
Answer:Check my broker, then see who is on in my guild. Depending on the time I might craft, solo, or form-up for raid.
Question: Let’s talk favorites… What is your favorite item? (Is there one you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons?), What is your favorite zone? What is your favorite NPC? Do you have a favorite in-game memory?
Answer: Item — My Prismatic 1.0 and 2.0. I love glittery special effects on my weapons! Zone — Well Kael Drakkel has now topped the list. NPC — Darathar. First dragon I ever killed with a raid. Otherwise it’s Tarinax…he’s a badarse mofo. In-game Memory — Competing against Second Dawn for Matron kill in Mystic Lake.
Question: What is the most in-game currency you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
Answer: I think it was around 200p for a Master my Ranger needed.
Question: If you could have a superpower or a spell/ability from the game you play, what would it be?
Answer: I want a flying mount.
Question: If there was one thing you could tell the SOE Community about yourself, what would it be?
Answer: I like getting to know people. I’m very helpful and knowledgeable about the game. And I love getting compliments on my outfits lol.
