Sony Online Entertainment is full of many diverse employees. Our company isn’t just made up of the folks you meet on the forums or see at Fan Faire. We have a Finance Department, a Human Resources department, Legal, Office Operations, Administrative Assistants, people from all walks of life!
The Community team would like to introduce you to those people in a monthly feature titled, “SOE Employee Spotlight.” This month you will meet Keith Rekoske from Customer Service. Take a moment to find out about what a typical day in the office is like for them, what their favorite SOE game is, and other fun tidbits. As a special bonus, we learned where their favorite location in-game is and included screenshots for you to download!
What is your real name or an alias you’d rather use?

How long have you been working at SOE?
10 Years
Tell us what a typical workday is like for you.
As my wife Ashlanne will vouch for, I normally roll out of bed about 10 minutes before work, and go power up my work pc.* I’m one of the few Game Masters that are allowed to work from home; I know it’s really tough. *At about 7 am I open up the petition queue and see what’s waiting for me, and go through the emails that have come in.* Then pull tickets until 9 when I take my first break, I normally make myself some breakfast then it’s back to work. Lunch time rolls around at 11 so now it’s time to shower and get dressed, (yep half way through my work day). *Now I’ve got about 30 minutes until it’s time to get back to work so I fire up some World of Tanks or hit web. *Then I put in a few more hours of work and take another break.* Then it’s time to clock out and start playing.
What is your favorite SOE game title?
EverQuest 2(PVE) – SWG (PVP)
Inside that title, what is your favorite location?
I don’t really have one, there are just too many to choose from. But out of all the SOE games I have played I would have to say the beach in Oasis, next to the Barbarian village.* I used to spend a lot of time fishing there while my warrior got his health back while soloing back in 1999!

What is your favorite thing about that game?
My guild mates, most of them I have known for years, I joined the guild shortly after SWG went live.
If you could be any fictional character, whom would you be?
I would have to say Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, Or John Clark/Kelly, sorry guys not really a super hero kind of guy.
What was the last book you read?
Last book James Bradley’s – The Imperial Cruise.
How did you get into the industry?
Both my best friend and applied for Game Master positions that opened up back when there was a Verant Interactive, we both were hired on a few months before EverQuest’s first Expansion Ruins of Kunark launched.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The only one that really matters, Mind Control, cause really what could be cooler then making the world bow before for you, and plus maybe for once I would win an argument with Ashlanne.
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
Mainly play games, EQ2, SWG, Rockband 2, Madden 11, Civ V, and World of Tanks.
