Recap of the SOE Halloween Hocus Pocus

Overview
In celebration of Halloween, the Community Relations Team hosted the SOE Halloween Hocus Pocus Ustream party on October 29, 2010.
Behind the scenes, Ashlanne and Naylie got everything setup and prepared to navigate crowds on screen and in the chat. Virrago and others helped to keep the spooky undead from disrupting the chat channel.

Whether they showed up at the party in costumes or disguised as themselves, throughout the Ustream we had visits from all corners of the SOE San Diego office – Community Relations, Development Teams, Customer Support, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Public Relations, Operations, International Operations and more!
Costume Parade
Several employees got in the spirit of the holiday by dressing up as alternate personalities. While we had a lot of people dressed up last year, we saw even more dressed up this year and everyone came out of their hiding spaces to show off their costuming skills. There were pirates, clowns, comic book characters, video game characters, movie characters, television characters, mythological characters, witches, geisha, dragon slayers, and other strange characters. Watch the video linked below to see all the costumes. For some of our coworkers, we had to wonder whether they actually dressed up in costume or if they had finally unveiled their true appearance. Here are some of the Community Team members that dressed up in costumes.

A few members of some of the development teams stopped by to show of their costumes and to chat with everyone during the party. Pex took a moment to chat with some of the Free Realms developers.

Hunting Frogloks
We wanted to take a moment to highlight members of the community. As a special treat for the broadcast, we highlighted a video project created by Snickers (aka Snickersx) from the EQ Xegony server and his brother Lyconthorp from the EQ2 Blackburrow server. Many of you may know Snickers from his appearances at Fan Faire. At the 2010 Fan Faire, he proposed to his girlfriend while dressed in his froglok costume! She said yes!

If you weren’t frightened by all the spooky costumes and insanity of everyone so far, Shingo told everyone a spooky story that will really scare you. Hold on to your chairs while tuning in to hear it.
