Sony Online Entertainment is full of many diverse employees. Our company isn’t just made up of the folks you meet on the forums or see at Fan Faire. We have a Finance Department, a Human Resources department, Legal, Office Operations, Administrative Assistants, people from all walks of life!
The Community team would like to introduce you to those people in a monthly feature titled, “SOE Employee Spotlight.” This month you will meet Kenny Dao from Customer Service. Take a moment to find out about what a typical day in the office is like for them, what their favorite SOE game is, and other fun tidbits. As a special bonus, we learned where their favorite location in-game is and created wallpaper for you to download!

Game master/moderator
How long have you been working at SOE?

Tell us what a typical workday is like for you.
Typical duties include:
-Answering tickets
-Approve/deny character names
-Approve/deny guild names
-Profile moderation
-In game moderation
What is your favorite SOE game title?
I’ve only tried Free Realms, so I would have to say, Free Realms!
Inside that title, what is your favorite location?
Blackspore!
What is your favorite thing about that game?
The ability to change jobs when ever I want.
If you could be any fictional character, whom would you be?
Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter
What was the last book you read?
The Civil War
How did you get into the industry?
Through a friend recommendation
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My answer to this question will vary depending on a condition that has not been declared.* Because of this, I will include two different answers.
Answer 1:* If there are other people in the world that have super powers, then I would like the power to be able to absorb other people’s powers just by being around them, and have the ability to recall that power when ever I choose.
Answer 2:* If there are no other people in the world that have super powers, then I would like then I would like to have telekinetic powers (move things with my mind, hear peoples thoughts, implant thoughts into people’s mind).
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
My hobbies are:
Photography (amateur)
Cars
Video Games
