Where in the real life world do you live?
I’ve lived in Racine, Wisconsin all my life.
What SOE Game(s) do you play?
I currently play Star Wars Galaxies. I’ve played EverQuest 2 off and on as well, but do not currently subscribe to it.
How long have you played the above games?
I’ve played Star Wars Galaxies consistently*since June 13th, 2005. I don’t really know long I’ve totalled in EverQuest 2 due to the off and on nature of my subscription to it.
What other games do you play?
All sorts. I own several consoles including NES, N64, and Xbox 360, which are the three I play most frequently. My favorite games are probably Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros 3 on NES, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 on N64, and BioShock on Xbox 360.
What type of work do you do?
I worked*during the holidays*at my neighbor’s store in downtown Kenosha, but at the present time, I am unemployed and focusing on my college education.
Do you listen to the Official SOE Podcast? *What do you like best about it?
I have never listened to the SOE Podcast. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do, but always forget.
How many hours a week do you play video games?
My gaming time varies greatly from week to week. It depends on how much homework or studying I have to do, as well as any other plans I may have for the week. When I don’t have anything else to do, I tend to play for hours on end though. Gaming is definitely a passion for me.
What does a typical gaming session consist of?
Roleplaying, no matter what I’m doing. Whether*I’m*doing a quest,*socializing, or just standing around, I am in-character 100% of the time.*Unfortunately,* I often*find myself drifting aimlessly through space or*wandering around cities when there’s nothing else going on, but I attend events whenever possible, or just hang out with some friends.
In the SOE Games you play what do you play? Race/class/Rank/Faction ect….
Pictured at the top of this page is Tekbarr Orro, my original and main character in Galaxies. He is a Mon Calamari Medic and he is*neutral in the Galactic Civil War.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
My dad bought an NES when I was only*three months old. When I was old enough to play it and understand how to treat it with care, my dad set the Nintendo up for me and showed me how to play Super Mario Bros. I’ve been gaming ever since. As for the kind of games I like most, it depends on the platform I am playing them on, due to evolution of the genres over time. On old school consoles, I prefer platformers and and action/adventure games. On more recent consoles, I am a huge fan of RPGs, action games, and some shooters.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing Video Games?
I enjoy reading, watching movies, and listening to music. I am also a great lover of Chinese food.
What is your highest level character?
Tekbarr is a level 90 Medic and an Ace CorSec Pilot. My alternate character in Star Wars Galaxies, Threll Tordana, is a level 90 Officer and an Ace Imperial Pilot.
What do you like the most about your favorite SOE Game?
The fact that I can create my own character and take part in a living, breathing Star Wars universe. As a lifelong Star Wars fan,*that’s a dream come true for me.
How did you choose your main character’s name?
My friend had a Star Wars RPG sourcebook, in which “Teckba” was a suggested name for a Mon Calamari. After a bit of brainstorming, I modified it into “Tekbarr” and added “Orro” as a surname. The fact that “Tekbarr” sounds similar to “Ackbar” is purely coincidence and I didn’t even notice it*until I had been playing Star Wars Galaxies for almost two years.
What is your favorite zone?
I’ve always liked Etyyy, the Hunting Grounds on Kashyyyk. The environment is stunning and the ambient*sound effects of distant animals makes it very immersive.
What is your favorite NPC?
I’d probably have to say*Achonnko, the*master trail guide at the start of the Ryatt Trail on*Kashyyyk. I don’t know why, but he’s always stuck out in my mind for some reason.
Which zone do you like the least?
The Exar Kune Heroic Encounter. I’m not really a fan of Heroic Encounters to begin with, but that one just nukes the fridge as far as the difficulty and*level of frustration it causes. There’s also*the fact that there’s not a single thing in it that I can look at and think “Star Wars.”
Which NPC do you like the least?
TK-555. The short and fat Stormtrooper who steals candy*during Life Day and totally ruins the otherwise epic line-up at the Empire Day celebrations in Theed. There is no excuse for his existence.
What is the most in-game currency you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
I believe it was 60 million credits*on one of those Rebel commando helmets like the ones used during the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. I think that’s the most money I’ve ever had as well. Nowadays, I’m pretty sure newbies arrive from Tansarii Point Station with more credits than I typically have at any given time.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it?
I don’t think so. Most of the old stuff I have is actual furniture used in my house, like old holograms and paintings and things. I do have an old*Marine armor backpack though. I’ve been hanging on to it just in case I decide to enlist in the Rebellion some day. Marine armor looks great on Mon Calamari, but not without the backpack.
Describe your best experience from playing your favorite SOE Game?
Being a newbie in Star Wars Galaxies.*There’s no experience more awe-inspiring than just starting out, knowing nothing and nobody, and being totally lost in the vast Star Wars universe.
