Where in the real life world do you live?
Fairbanks, Alaska
What SOE Game(s) do you play?
Everquest II (occasionally FreeRealms)
How long have you played the above games?
Since launch!
What other games do you play?
Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2
What type of work do you do?
Computer Operator / Video Production
Do you listen to the Official SOE Podcast? *What do you like best about it?
I download them onto my Zune HD. I like the banter and the dev interviews.
How many hours a week do you play video games?
10-12 hours.
What does a typical gaming session consist of?
Mostly solo questing and group instances.
In the SOE Games you play what do you play? Race/class/Rank/Faction ect….
In EQII my main is a level 80 Dwarven Templar (Fabled) and level 80 Jeweler based in Qeynos. My primary alt is a 78 Fae Ranger.
In FreeRealms my only character is a Ninja and a Cart Racer.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
Back in 1999 I was still rolling dice in the games AD&D, GURPS, and Earthdawn. But my group of friends were getting tied up in work and sessions got more rare. One of them suggested I play a PC game he liked called Everquest. (The only PC game I had at the time was Tribes.) They pitched in and got me a copy (with Kunark) for my birthday, and I was hooked!
I play MMORPG, FPS, and sports games mostly. Occasionally I’ll play an RTS.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing Video Games?
Computers, Golf, Fishing, and video editing.
What is your highest level character?
Sutures Woundmender (80 Templar / 80 Jeweler)
What do you like the most about your favorte SOE Game?
I like interacting with friends and guildies. I like the teamwork aspect of MMO games in general. I also like to role play a little, be it in the customization of my toon or full out RP interaction.
How did you choose your main character’s name?
That would be my silly nature. I named my cleric alt in EQ Sutures Tailor’atank as a fun tie-in that he was a healer and a tailor. When EQII launched I knew I liked playing that cleric, so I made Sutures Woundmender and gave him a lore tying him to the original.
What is your favorite zone?
Do I have to pick one? I like instanced zones because I remember the EQ days of forming up a raid only to have another raid force get there a moment before you. Having to track spawn timers was not fun.
What is your favorite NPC?
Antonia Bayle. She’s a hottie and queen of my city!
Which zone do you like the least?
Freeport. It’s not fun to navigate and Eeeeevil!
Which NPC do you like the least?
Lucan D’Lere because I whooped him for my Palidan’s epic in EQ just to have him come back in EQII. I don’t even get to kill him in this game!
What is the most in-game currency you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
Like 30 plat.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it?
I have a pair of fabled gloves in the bank that I wore from levels 35-55 before I found something better. They aren’t sellable, and I have enough room that I don’t have to destroy them yet. =)
Describe your best experience from playing your favorite SOE Game?
One night I was looking for group for an hour before finding a group. The tank in the group inspected me and said I could never solo heal him, so we’d need a 2nd healer. I thought I could, but decided not to push it. After 20 more minutes of asking for another healer, I suggested he let me try it up to the first named. We grabbed a DPS class and entered the zone. It was awesome to witness their shock when I did perfectly fine through the entire zone, and the tank had to eat his words.
